In 2003 I spent a long time on a very intense work assignment in a different city away from home.
When I came back from that successful assignment I came back much heavier and much less fit then I was originally.
A realization of this coupled with a desire to return to a fitter me resulted in a decision to go around Lake Erie.
Although I did question my sanity and experience moments of nervousness, fear and even panic I eventually set off on a life changing journey!
Here are the "goals and priorities " I set for the tour back before I started it.
This journal contains about 65 pictures from the trip around Lake Erie.
I purposely placed the pictures in the journal on the day when they were taken. This means that what you see while reading a journal entry is also what I saw on that day. You might notice the huge variations in scenery, weather and roads.
On my Lake Erie tour I took along a camera as an afterthought and only at the urging of one of my friends and co-workers. If he hadn't been so insistent I would likely have no pictures from this trip and most likely later trips too! As it turned out I look at the pictures quite regularily. The pictures from my Lake Erie tour showcase the kind of pictures a very, very amateur photographer using multiple disposable cameras can take.
My summary pages will contain my after tour thoughts as well as cover off questions I have been asked.
Oh yes, about the insanity thing.....
After reading this journal I'll let you decide. Was I insane to go or would I have been insane to have never tried?
These same goals have always been part of each tour so far!
I hope you enjoy the pictures and the journal entries. I enjoyed finding the pictures to take and putting together the words in each night's journal!
