Apple Dumplings
A simple meal plan contributed by Jim Foreman.
Most any kind of dessert is hard to come by on a camping trip much less a hot one. Here are easy to make apple dumplings.

Ingredients:
1 Apple
1 Can Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
1 Stick Oleo or Butter
3/4 Cup Sugar (White or brown)
Cinnamon
1 Can Mountain Dew
Directions:
- Peel, core and cut apple into 8 sections.
- Open can of Crescent Rolls and roll dough out flat (don't separate at this point).
- Sprinkle about 1/4 cup sugar on the dough and sprinkle with cinnamon.
- Melt butter and add sugar in non-stick skillet and melt butter.
- Place one section of apple on each triangle and roll up.
- Place them in a pinwheel pattern in the skillet, turning each one once to coat with butter and sugar.
- Pour on half of the can of Mountain Dew, cover and place over low heat to bring to a simmer.
- Simmer covered for about 25 minutes, remove cover add the rest of the Mountain Dew and let the liquid reduce to a light sauce.
- Can be made in a 350 oven for 45 minutes.
